Navigating the Dashboard

Dashboard Overview

The dashboard is your home base in Formuley. It gives you an at-a-glance view of your business health, surfaces important alerts, and provides shortcuts to your most common tasks.

Welcome Message and Period Selector

At the top of the dashboard, you will see a personalized "Welcome back, [Name]" greeting. In the top right corner, the Period Selector lets you choose the time range for your KPI data -- for example, This Month, Last 30 Days, or This Year. Changing the period updates all the summary cards below.

KPI Cards

Four summary cards appear at the top of the dashboard:

• Total Revenue -- the total income recorded for the selected period.
• Gross Profit -- revenue minus cost of goods, showing your actual earnings.
• Formulas -- the total number of formulas in your library.
• Ingredients -- the total count of ingredients, with a low stock indicator if any items are running low.

These cards give you an immediate snapshot of where your business stands.

Alerts

Low Stock Alerts

If any ingredients have fallen below their configured threshold, a Low Stock Alert section appears below the KPI cards. Each alert shows the ingredient name and current quantity so you can reorder before you run out.

Cost Alerts (Profit Guardian)

The Cost Alerts section surfaces notifications from Formuley's Profit Guardian system. These alerts warn you about rising ingredient costs, shrinking margins, or formulas that may no longer be profitable at their current price point.

Quick Actions

The Quick Actions grid provides one-click access to common workflows:

• Create Formula -- open the formula builder to start a new formula.
• Add Ingredient -- add a new ingredient to your library.
• Log Batch -- record a new production batch.
• Import Recipe -- bring in a formula from an external source.
• Starter Kits -- browse product-type starter kits to jumpstart your formulations.
• Journey -- access your guided learning journey for step-by-step business growth.

Recent Batches

The Recent Batches section lists your latest production runs. Each entry displays the batch number, status (e.g., Completed, In Progress), formula name, date, and quality rating. Click any batch to view its full details.

Sidebar Navigation

The left sidebar organizes all of Formuley's features into groups based on your subscription tier:

• Core (all tiers) -- Dashboard, Formulas, Ingredients, Batches, Shopping List
• Business Intelligence (Pro and above) -- Profit Guardian, Reports, Integrations, Orders
• Tools / Calculators -- Soap Calculator, unit converters, and other utilities
• Supply Chain (Business and above) -- Suppliers, Purchase Orders, Invoices
• Compliance & Labels -- Compliance dashboard, INCI Generator, Labels, GMP Docs
• Education (Lab and above) -- Classes, assignments, and educational resources

Features that require a higher tier are visible but marked with a tier badge, so you always know what is available to you and what you can unlock by upgrading.

Tips for Getting Started

• Start by adding your ingredients so you have a library to pull from.
• Then create your first formula using those ingredients.
• Use the Quick Actions grid on the dashboard to stay productive without hunting through menus.
